What you get

Under this scheme, villages located within a 2-kilometer radius of the identified tracking traction center are eligible for benefits. For the construction of buildings with toilets along the identified routes, a grant of ₹60,000/- per room is provided. In cases where building repairs are required, a grant of ₹25,000/- per room is provided, for up to a maximum of six rooms.

Who can apply

This benefit is applicable only to villages located within a 2-kilometer radius of the trekking traction center identified by the Tourism Department, and these villages must be separate from urban areas.; There is no obligation to take out a loan.; The applicant must be a native of a village in Uttarakhand near the traction center and must reside, or intend to reside, with their family in the proposed homestay.; Guest rooms should be provided for a minimum of one and a maximum of six.; The homestay must be registered with the department, or if newly constructed, it must be registered upon completion.; Preference will be given to buildings constructed or developed in the traditional hill-style architecture.

Applicants submit the completed form along with documents to the District Tourism Development Officer or Tourism Welcome Center. A committee chaired by the District Magistrate conducts interviews, and suitable candidates are selected.

How is the grant disbursed?

After the technical committee’s approval and the District Magistrate’s recommendation, the department transfers the sanctioned amount directly into the applicant’s bank account.
