Girls who secure the first position at the state level in Class 8, Praveshika, and Varishtha Upadhyay examinations conducted by the Sanskrit Education Department are also rewarded.
Are Swami Vivekanand Government Model School students eligible?
Yes, from 2021–22, the top 8 girls each from Class 10 and 12 in these schools who score 9.0 CGPA or more are eligible.
Is there a minimum marks criterion for eligibility?
Yes, students must have secured at least 60% marks in their respective examinations.
What is the application process for the scheme?
Eligible students must collect the prescribed form from the District Education Officer (Head Office) or the Nodal Officer, fill it out with required documents, and submit it within the given timeframe.
Can applications be submitted online?
No, currently the application process is offline and requires submission of a hard copy to the designated office.
Who finalizes and approves the list of awardees?
The final list is approved and submitted by the Director, Secondary Education to the Secretary, Balika Shiksha Foundation for award disbursal.
How are the awards distributed?
Awards are distributed by the District Education Officer and Nodal Officers. If the student is now enrolled in a different institution, the award is given at her current school after verification.
Is there a specific ceremony for award distribution?
Yes, awards are presented during the “Balika Shiksha Samman Samaroh” held on September 19 every year.
Can a student claim the award if she has discontinued studies?
Yes, a girl who is not enrolled or has left studies can still claim the award by submitting a self-declaration on plain paper.
Are these awards transferable?
No, awards are non-transferable and are valid only for the specified academic year and category.
