The OBC/EBC/DNT students, who secure admission in the notified institutions, will be awarded scholarships to meet the requirements for:- | - Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges (there will be a ceiling of ₹2.00 lakhs per annum per student for private sector institutions and ₹3.72 lakhs per annum per student for the private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses) | - Living expenses to the beneficiary @₹3,000/-per month per student | - Books and stationery @ ₹5,000/- per annum per student | - A latest computer/laptop of a reputed brand with accessories like UPS and printer limited to ₹45,000/- per student as one-time assistance during the course. | Note 01: The scholarship will become payable immediately after a student has secured admission and has started attending the classes. | Note 02: The payment of tuition fees and other non-refundable charges will be made directly to the institution by the Central Government through Direct Benefit Transfer mode. | Note 03: Similarly, the payment of living expenses, books & stationery, and computer/laptop with accessories will be made directly to the student by the Central Government through Direct Benefit Transfer mode.

What is the objective of the scheme?
The objective of the scheme is to recognize and promote quality education amongst Students belonging to OBC, EBC and DNT categories by providing full financial support. The Scheme will cover OBC/EBC/DNT students for pursuing studies beyond Class XII.
What is the scope and coverage of the scheme?
The Scheme will operate in all the institutions notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for every financial year 2021-22 onwards. | The scholarship, once awarded, will continue till the completion of the course, subject to satisfactory performance of the student. The students are required to apply for scholarships every year even in case of renewal also.
How is the scheme funded?
The scheme is fully funded by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, on a 100% basis.

What happens if a student fails to get promoted to the next semester/class?
The scholarship will be terminated in such cases.
How are ‘Top Class’ institutions identified for inclusion in the Scheme?
Institutions such as IIMs, IITs, NITs, etc., are eligible, subject to their application or recommendation by the Selection Committee. Other criteria include NAAC A++ and A+ accreditation, NIRF ranking, or Institutions of National Importance as per Ministry of Education lists.
