What you get

Financial assistance of ₹2,00,000 is provided to widowed women at the time of their remarriage | NOTE: | - Financial assistance is directly deposited into the beneficiary’s bank savings account. | - The assistance is provided only once in a lifetime.

Who can apply

The applicant must be a widowed woman (Kalyani).; The applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh, and her spouse must also be a permanent resident.; The applicant must be 18 years or older, and her husband must be 21 years or older at the time of marriage.; The applicant must not be an income taxpayer.; The applicant must not be a government employee of the state, central government, or government-funded corporations and institutions.; The applicant must not be receiving a family pension from any government source.; There is no restriction of BPL under the scheme.; The husband must not have any living wife from a previous marriage.; There will be no compulsion to marry in a mass marriage ceremony for the Kalyani Vivah Yojana; individual marriages will also be considered valid.; The Kalyani has minor children, the responsibility for the children's upkeep will be jointly borne by the Kalyani and her husband.

Can beneficiaries of other marriage schemes apply?

No. Applicants cannot take benefits from Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana or Nishaktjan Vivah Protsahan Yojana.

Can a woman whose husband has a living wife apply?

No. The husband must not have any living wife.

Is the assistance provided in cash?

No. The amount is transferred directly to the applicant’s bank account.

What happens if the marriage ends within 7 years?

The beneficiary must refund the entire assistance amount.

Who approves the application?

The District Collector is the sanctioning authority.

Can applicants from other states apply?

No. The applicant and her husband must both be permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh.

What if my application is rejected?

You may file an appeal with the Divisional Commissioner within 30 days.

Who is the second appellate authority?

The Commissioner, Social Justice and Disabled Welfare, within 30 days.

Is group marriage mandatory?

No. Single (individual) marriages are also valid.
