Scientists and Research Scholars working in an academic or research institution located in Himachal Pradesh, who have passed at least M.Sc./B.E./B.Tech/MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized University/Institute, are eligible to apply.
What is the maximum age limit to be considered for travel assistance?
The applicant's age should not be above 40 years on the date of commencement of the Conference/Seminar/Symposium/Workshop.
Is it mandatory for the paper to be accepted for presentation?
Yes, the applicant's paper should have been accepted for presentation. A copy of the full paper, along with an abstract, schedule of the conference, and acceptance letter from the organizer, must be appended with the application.
Can scientists and research scholars who have previously received travel support under PATSS apply again?
No, scientists and research scholars who have received travel support under PATSS in the previous three years are not eligible for consideration.
Are applications to attend annual meetings of professional societies considered under this scheme?
No, applications to attend annual meetings of professional societies will not be considered. The Conference/Seminar/Symposium/Workshop should be of an international character and repute.
Is publication in a refereed journal necessary to be considered for travel assistance?
Yes, scientists and research scholars who have not published at least one paper in a refereed journal would not be considered.
What is the procedure for forwarding the application?
The application, along with all necessary documents, should be forwarded through the proper channel from the Head of the Institution.
What is the deadline for submitting the application?
Applications complete in all respects should reach the office mandatorily one month before the event.
What is the requirement for the research paper presented at the conference?
The scientist/research scholar sanctioned travel grant under the scheme is required to provide one reprint of the research paper presented at the conference after its publication.
