Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit crops

The main objective of the scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops" is to encourage and support farmers in Gujarat to adopt high-density and ultra-high-density plantation techniques and to take up new cultivation of specific fruit crops by providing them with financial assistance for covering a portion of their cultivation costs.

The scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops" is implemented by the Agriculture and Co-operation Department under the Government of Gujarat.

The fruit crops eligible for financial assistance under the scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops" include mango, guava, lemon, pomegranate, tissue culture banana, and papaya, which have been identified as suitable for cultivation under high-density, ultra-high-density, or new plantation methods.

Under the scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops", the assistance for high-density and ultra-high-density plantations in crops such as mango, guava, lemon, and pomegranate ranges from ₹30,000/- to ₹40,000/- per hectare, subject to a maximum limit of 4 hectares per beneficiary farmer.

For the cultivation of tissue culture banana, the scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops" provides financial assistance amounting to either 40% of the total expenditure incurred or ₹50,000/-, whichever is less, with an upper limit of 4 hectares per beneficiary farmer.

The scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops" offers financial support for papaya cultivation, amounting to either 50% of the total cultivation cost or ₹30,000/- per hectare, whichever is less, enabling farmers to reduce their initial investment burden.

The scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops" is open to all farmers residing in Gujarat who are engaged in or intend to engage in the cultivation of the specified fruit crops on land that they own or cultivate, provided they meet the scheme’s conditions.

There is no income limit specified under the scheme "Assistance for Area Expansion in Fruit Crops", meaning that farmers of all income levels can apply for the financial assistance provided they fulfil the other eligibility requirements.
