Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards (Non-Commercial)

The scheme recognizes and honors non-commercial artistes who have contributed immensely for the development of tiatr, its song and music through yearly Tiatr Festivals/Competitions organized by Kala Academy and by organizing tiatrs in villages, as well as artistes who have enriched Konkani Tiatr.

Who can apply

The applicant should be not less than 60 years of age.; The applicant should have at least 10 years contribution in the field of tiatr.; The applicant should demonstrate excellence as an actor, script writer, director, singer, lyricist, set designer, or other relevant role.; The applicant should have performed in at least 10 tiatrs if working as actor/singer/stage manager/lights provider/make-up artist/costume designer/live music/background music.; The applicant should have written/directed at least 10 tiatrs if working as a writer/director.

You must have contributed to the field of tiatr for at least 10 years to be eligible for consideration.

You cannot apply directly. The selection process works through recommendations from individuals or institutions, though the Executive Board may also select deserving artistes independently.

What happens if I have already received a similar recognition in commercial tiatr or other Konkani performing arts?

You will not be eligible for this award if you have already received Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr Awards in any category including Commercial/Non-Commercial, Khell, Khell-Tiatr, or Konkani Cinema.

If I am a script writer or director, how many productions must I have completed to qualify?

As a writer or director, you must have written or directed at least 10 tiatrs respectively to meet the eligibility requirements.

What is the specific age requirement for eligibility, and are there any exceptions to this rule?

You must be not less than 60 years of age, though this age limit may be relaxed if your health condition is not well.

How many artistes can receive this recognition in a single year, and is there any guarantee of selection?

Not more than 5 artistes from the field will be conferred with these awards every year, and selection is not guaranteed.

Contributions as singer, lyricist, set designer, script writer, musician, stage manager, lights provider, make-up artist, costume designer, live music provider, and background music designer are all considered.

You should provide details of songs recorded on vinyl records, Cassettes, Compact Discs, Digital Versatile Discs, digital media, or broadcast on All India Radio/Doordarshan/Television Channels.

If I am primarily an actor or performer, what is the minimum number of productions I must have participated in?

If you work as an actor, singer, stage manager, lights provider, make-up artist, costume designer, live music provider, or background music provider, you must have performed in at least 10 tiatrs.

When and where will I receive the recognition if selected, and is my personal attendance mandatory?

You must be compulsorily present in person to receive the award at a special function on 2nd January on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lucasinho Ribeiro.
