Target Group Definition | ◦ The applicant must be a school teacher, special educator, or Head of School. | ◦ The applicant must be working in a recognized government or aided primary, middle, high, or higher secondary school. | ◦ The applicant must be an in-service teacher. | ◦ The applicant must fulfill the required academic and professional qualifications as per their cadre for the State Award to Teachers. | Service Requirements | ◦ The applicant, if an in-service Regular Teacher or Special Educator, must have completed at least 15 years of regular teaching service in the State of Goa as on June 30th of the academic year for which they are applying. | ◦ The applicant, if a Headmaster, must have 5 years of administrative experience out of the required 15 years of regular teaching service in the State of Goa. | Preference/Reservation | ◦ One award out of the 10 is reserved for a differently abled teacher or Head of the School/Special Educator from Regular or Special Schools. | ◦ The applicant applying for the Differently Abled Category must attach a disability certificate indicating more than 40% disability.

No, Contractual Teachers, Para Teachers, Part-time Instructors, and National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) Instructors are explicitly not eligible for the State Awards to Teachers.

If an applicant has previously faced disciplinary measures or been penalized by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, can they still be considered for this award?

No, any teacher who has been penalized by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) shall not be considered.

If there is an active investigation or official inquiry currently underway against a teaching professional, will that automatically exclude them from the selection process?

Yes, a teacher against whom any inquiry is being conducted shall not be considered for the award.
